7 - Megastructural Engineering and Technology

Ñezyeki mega-engineering is widely considered one of the most impressive methods of construction in the known universe. Utilizing a mix of space-borne construction and in-orbit assembly, some truly massive structures can be created and utilized. Among these are, most famously, the orbital arcology, which is a fusion of natural landscapes, clouds, plants, and life, with massive orbiting rings around planets, usually gas giants, whose spin force provides a sense of gravity. Billions can inhabit even the smaller rings, and due to the verticality of their architecture, it is usually on the higher end in terms of population.

Another of similar stature is the satellite swarm, which may surround a brown dwarf, or star, and encapsulate it within countless individual large satellites. They may orbit in concentric rings at an incline from each other, or in a shell-like formation, and they may have different purposes as well. Many are solely for energy collection, but for those who can live only in the hotter side of life, there are “coronal habitat swarms” available to live in, where it is a functioning city aboard a large satellite circling nearly within the corona of a star. In fact, many who lead low-key lives, such as ex-celebrities and ex-stars, are likely to be found here, as it is a peaceful, isolated life.

Perhaps one of the most amazing inventions of the species is an incomprehensibly huge weaponizer system known as a Stellar Conversion Module, which can attach itself to any solid object, or anchor itself to any gaseous or liquid object, and act as a framework from which to convert the object into a planet-sized spacecraft. Many of these SCM-based craft have been used to leave the confines of the galaxy cluster and take billions deeper into space than ever imagined, and many still continue to do so, surveying the vast cosmos on a joyride that never has to end.
